Speak4Yourself is inclusive group for people with and without learning disabilities and meets on a Wed night from 6.30-8pm in Dalmuir. We will help you gain the skills you need to speak about the issues affecting you and your local community. All Young People attending are registered for the Millenium Volunteer award and its a great addition to any CV or Personal Statement.

Speak4Yourself is a group of young people aged 12-18 with and without learning disabilities who meet in Dalmuir on a Wed night. It is part of Enable Scotland and funded by Children in Need. It is a youth group with a purpose - to speak out about the issues affecting you and your local community. We also do fun day activities and away days - decided by you!

We come together and campaign for an issue affecting you and do something about it! All young people are registered for the Millenium Volunteer award and with more universities looking at your personal statement - its a great addition to any UCAS form.

We have opportunities for Peer Supporters within this group. Peer Supporters are people who are sensitive to the needs of others - particularly those with learning disabilities and who feel they could make a difference to someones life - giving them the tools they need to speak up! We also give you the training you need to become the best peer supporter you can be.

We also have opportunities for Self Advocates - Self advocates are at the heart of our group and without them there would be no group - so come along and see for yourself!
