Creative Pathways – Home Project (Ayrshire)
Creative Pathways is an employability programme where participants are vulnerable young people aged 16-19. They are engaged for approximately 24 weeks (depending on available funding) and work alongside qualified cabinet makers/artists to recycle and upcycle furniture.
Elements of the programme include: Furniture Design or community Challenges where participants are encouraged to develop their practical/artistic skills along with transferable work skills and personal development.
Home is a furniture design & recycling project. Impact Arts take donated furniture and re-created it, designing and producing something updated, Up-Cycled and beautiful. It may be a similar piece of furniture or something radically different, whatever is suited to the materials. Our highly experienced joinery and design tutors take participants on a journey through the different stages of design and production, including enterprise and retail skills and all the furniture is sold through their Impact Arts shops and other retail venues.
